Training and teaching in the USA

For the second time this year I have just returned from 10 days training in Water Style Boxing and the Tai Chi of Grandmaster William C.C. Chen at my teacher Sifu Nathan Menaged's school in Columbus, Ohio. Accompanying me was my friend and student Keith who I was delighted to have join me for the whole experience. Meeting and training with Grandmaster Chen was a wonderful experience, as he is a great teacher with an infectious enthusiasm for his art. I would like to thank Grandmaster Chen, Sifu Nathan and all his students for making us feel so welcome, and for giving us such valuable material to work with.

I then travelled to Pittsburgh to teach a very successful workshop in Qigong for Spinal Health over five days at Chatham University. During this time I was introduced to a woman police officer called Christa who teaches a regular self-defence class on the campus, and was asked to 'guest' at her class. This was a great experience and I was delighted to meet Christa and to work with her group of enthusiastic students. I would like to say a big thank you to Julie Arnhiem for organising my workshops at Chatham once again.

Water Style Boxing

I have recently returned from spending 12 days training in Water Style Boxing at Sifu Nathan Menaged's school in Columbus, Ohio, USA. It was a truly wonderful experience which was both intensely challenging and inspiring.

I wish to thank Sifu Nathan and all his students who made me feel so welcome during my time there, and for patiently helping me to break out of old patterns and habits, and to (slowly, but hopefully surely) understand what this extraordinary and beautiful art is all about.

"A Light Shining in the Darkness"

Here is an article which I wrote for the current Spring/Summer 08 BAThH Journal. The article (which is the first in a series) is an account of my experiences while studying Hypnosis with my teacher and friend, the late Dr. Vernon Bell.
